Enclave Quickstart

In this quick start guide you will start your journey with Enclave enrolling your first systems, and using tags and policy to establish a connectivity between them. Once a system has Enclave installed, it must be enrolled to your tenant using an Enrolment Key. Once enrolled, attach Tags to group your newly enrolled systems together and define Policy to connect them.

Before you begin

To follow this guide, you will need:

  1. An Enclave account, it's free to register for a 14-day trial

  2. At least two systems (e.g. laptops, servers, devices or containers) with Enclave installed

Get an Enrolment Key

You will need an Enrolment Key from your tenant to install Enclave onto your devices. Enrolment Keys allow you to enrol one, or more new systems and devices to your Enclave tenant. You can create a new one, or proceed using the existing Quick Start Key enrolment key.

  1. Login to your tenant using the Enclave Portal

  2. Navigate to the Enrolment Keys page and select the Quick Start Key from the table

  3. In the details pane, select View key and make a note of the 30 character Enrolment Key

Install Enclave

  1. Provide the Quick Start Key from your tenant to the Enclave installer on both systems running Enclave to enrol each into your tenant. Use the links on the left to find the right installer for your operating system.

Congratulations! You've successfully enrolled your first systems in to your Enclave tenant.

Enclave operates with a default-deny security posture, meaning your enrolled systems cannot see or communicate with each other unless explicitly configured to do so. To enable communication, you’ll need to attach tags to each enrolled system and build at least one policy using those tags.

Once you've enrolled at least two systems, continue to attaching tags to your newly enrolled systems.
